Full Bio: Charlie Hu has been active in the Web3 and cryptocurrency space since 2013. In early 2015, he was co-organizer of the Amsterdam Bitcoin Meetup group and got involved into the Ethereum Berlin community, where Charlie met the co-founder of Ethereum Gavin Wood (creator of Ethereum virtual machine and yellow paper).
From 2016, Charlie started to invest in blockchain infrastructure projects such as Cosmos and Polkadot. He co-translated the Polkadot Chinese whitepaper and helped a lot of early stage ecosystem building work and events from 2017 - 2020 in the Polkadot ecosystem. Charlie and his team invested and incubated more than 15 Polkadot ecosystem projects, some of which grew to multi-billion dollar valuations, as well as listed on major crypto exchange such as Huobi and Binance etc.
As the Polygon Head of China and South East Asia, Charlie introduced more than 450 projects into the Polygon ecosystem, as well as conducted over 100 AMAs and events in China and across the globe. Charlie is the Managing Partner of LucidBlue Ventures, with more than 100 blockchain projects in the portfolio. Charlie is mostly one or two degrees away from all the important crypto leaders in the Web3 space.

Notable investments include Casetify, RTFKT Studio (acquired by Nike) and Animoca Brands. Before that, she was an Associate with the Equity Capital Markets team at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, based in Hong Kong.

Her appearances as keynote speaker and panelist can be found at esteem summits around the world covering various topics, such as leading technology like NFT and Metaverse, digital transformation, big data, security, digital marketing, HR, IoT, Customer Experience, and others. Akina holds an GEMBA from USC and a Bachelor’s degree from UCLA. She is a Board Member of Hong Kong PropTech and an Advisory Board at BEETc.
